Deaf Smith Historical Markers
Named for Erasmus "Deaf" Smith a soldier and scout of the Texas revolution. The county seat is Herefbut also know as the "Beef Capital of the World". I did not get much of a chance to become aquainted with this county, so I will withhold any impressions until our next visit.

7th July, 2019 - Marcy Trail and the Cowboy Strike have been confirmed to be missing, otherwise it should be just a matter of doing the driving to capture the rest.
25th October, 2019 - What we did discover on this trip or at least while I was doing the after trip review, is that there are three marker for the POW Chapel, the medallion and plate at the site of the still standing chapel, the 18 x 28 on CR H which we also captured, the third which I think I believed to be a duplicate entry is actually also in place on FM 385 south of Hereford. Deaf Smith Historical Commission confirmed that the marker for Mackenzie Trail and Site of great Cowboy Strike are missing with no plans to replace them.
