Bailey County Historical Markers
Bailey county is named for Peter James Bailey who fought at the Alamo. The county seat is Muleshoe. We tackled this county on the way home from a vacation to Santa Fe and was there in the early morning. There were hawks in the fields everywhere we had never seen so many at one time. It is a largely rural county with lots of farming, I found it was relaxing to drive here.
We managed to capture all the markers expect the First Irrigation Well In Bailey County which appeared to be missing. I have written to Judge Cage to see if there are any plans to replace this marker.
