Crockett County Historical Markers
NUMBER OF MARKERS IN COUNTY - 31
Have - 28 Need - 3
Crockett County is named for Davy Crockett, who was a frontiersman and an Alamo hero. County seat is Ozona. I love this area of Texas the landscape is dramatic and beautiful. To me it still feels very authentic, sort of like it's not trying to impress anyone, it's rugged and the area is saying let me work my magic on you.
We were successful looking for markers here, there are two we didn't get as this was on our way home, they were way out of the way. The Ernest Malapert Powell marker is missing I have written to Crockett County Historical Commission to see if there are any plans to replace it.
