TEXAS HISTORICAL MARKERS

Dallam County Historical Markers

NUMBER OF MARKERS IN COUNTY - 10
Have - 7 Need - 3
Dallam County is the most top west county of Texas butting up next to New Mexico and Oklahoma. Named for James Wilmer Dallam. The county seat is Dalhart.
The Texas state line markers are not listed in the Texas Historical Commission so we weren't really focused on them when we visited there in 2011. The other markers all reside in Dalhart except for Buffalo Springs which is on private property and will probably prove to be the difficult to visit without permission.
September 19th, 2018 - Update - We added only one of the state line markers on this trip. We still need to visit the top northwest corner of Texas in order to capture the last three markers in this state but I believe all three of them are there waiting for us.
