December 18th, 2019 -  Freestone County's name comes from its soil which is a sandy loam. The county seat is Fairfield.
When we took the marjority of the pictures in this county it has 2009, so as I write this I am struggling for my impressions of this time and I find they are extremely limited. I do know that a few of the markers we are missing are in place but not necessarily easy to locate or access. The county has added a couple of new markers. I think a return visit could see this county completed with some luck and patience.
