Marker Text: Hendrick Cemetery was begun in 1838 by Dr. Edwin Hendrick upon the death of his daughter, Susan. The  burial ground was first formally recorded in an 1860 deed, when Winnie Meridith conveyed property including the one-acre cemetery to Thomas Holcomb. John H. and Amanda Clementine Collins added an additional acre to the cemetery in 1924. The site served the rural areas surrounding the two small communities of Bulah and Jones Chapel. Dr. Hendrick was buried here in 1885 and several members of his family were late interred at the site. Additional burials include veterans of the Civil War, World Wars I & II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. (2005)
Location: about 11 miles southwest of Rusk, TX. on FM 23. Turn west on CR 2313 and .1 miles north on the CR 2314
