In 1842; District Judge in 1844. 
In 1846 The First Supreme Court 
Of The State Was Organized With 
John Hemphill, Chief Justice And 
Abner Smith Lipscomb And 
Royal T. Wheeler, Became Chief 
Justice in 1857.
