TEXAS HISTORICAL MARKERS

Sterling County Historical Markers

NUMBER OF MARKERS IN COUNTY - 13
Have - 12 Need - 1
Sterlin County is named for an early settler, W. S. Sterling. Sterling City is the county seat.
This is a small county in terms of markers. and the only real difficulty we encountered was with the two Brown houses both in Sterling City one is supposed to be at 705 5th Avenue and the other is supposed to be at Labadie & 7th Streets. They are both supposed to have medallions but we failed to locate any houses with medallions. We think we may have the second mentioned Brown house but are still unsure, we would love to hear from anyone with any information about these houses.
