Marker Text: ​      Pioneer German settlers of the Cypressville community, later known as Cypress Creek, formed a school district in 1879. The original frame schoolhouse was replaced by this structure in 1908. Built of limestone quarried on Otto Lich's property it was completed under the supervision of stonemason Charles and Otto Barte. Classes were held in the Cypress Creek School until 1942, when it was consolidated with the Comfort School District. (1982)
Location: From Kerrville, take FM 1341 about 10 miles to Cypress Creek - turn S onto Stonleigh Road, about .5 miles to school
