22nd March, 2019 - When I review a coastal county I immediately want to hop in the car and go visit. Chambers County has made me feel like that this last week. Chambers County Historical Commission has been extremely helpful answering all my questions and it does seem, at this time that all the markers are in place. The only one I my really not sure of about is the one titled Cove, it's listed in the Texas Historical Commission atlas, albeit with no location and I can't find any information about it online so I'm not sure it exists?
2nd February, 2023 - Chambers County is named for Thomas Jefferson Chambers a major general in the Texas Revolution. The county seat is Anahuac.
We spend three days here and the county was for the most part successful. We did not find the Cedar Point marker. We got close to Emily Brown but it was wet and the road in was not sealed so it was a choice of walk in, or hope that we could drive in without getting bogged and neither choice seemed great, so we let it be for now.  McNeir Cemetery is on private property and like Solomon Barrow we didn't have permission. Victoria Taylor Walker is not up yet and we didn't find Taylor White Ranch.
