TEXAS HISTORICAL MARKERS

Cottle County Historical Markers

MARKERS IN COUNTY - 10
Have - 9 Need -1
Cottle county seat is Paducah and all the historical markers in the county  are in or around this small country town in the panhandle of Texas. The county is named for George Washington Cottle who died defending the Alamo but actually had very little to do with this county. We were there in 2012 and managed to document all the markers except the 27 x 42 aluminum marker for Cottle County, which was definitely  not where the Texas historical atlas had it placed. The county marker is badly damaged and in my opinion if it was ever to be repaired it would be better to move it to the courthouse, as so many other counties have done.

3rd June, 2019 - On review there is no markers or any new information, I think for the sake of completeness I will ask if there are any plans to replace the missing Cottle County marker, but I believe I already know the answer.
