Marker Text: A member of Stephen F. Austin's second Colony, Andrew Rabb (1793 - 1893) settled in this area 1833, the year he was a delegate to the convention at San Felipe de Austin. He later served at chief justice (county judge), an organizer of Fayette County, and a member of the Republic of Texas Congress. He built this home about 1848 with the aid of a local German craftsmen, using wood and stone over study fachwerk style of construction. (1983)
