Marker Text: ​Helped to populate county, 1886 to 1912, settling three areas East Sweden, West Sweden, and Melvin. Most of 95 families who colonized here were farmers, others were carpenters, stone masons, and blacksmiths. They established thriving farm economy which has continued to the present day. (1972)
