Mason County is named after Fort Mason, and its county seat is Mason. It’s one of the first counties we explored, and Steve would love to live there. It’s a rural county right on the edge of the Hill Country.

We have three markers left to find in this county. The Hilda Community might not be up yet, and Diznenia Peters Todd’s grave is on private property in a small family cemetery. We haven’t been able to find the Site of the Old Park named after Comanche Chief Katemcy.
