NUMBER OF MARKERS IN COUNTY- 65
HAVE - 58 NEED - 7
Picture
Caldwell County is named for Matthew Caldwell a Texas hero who fought in the Texas Revolution and the Battle of Plum Creek, against the Comanches, he is also a signer of the Texas declaration of independence.  The county seat is Lockhart. Lockhart is  famous for its barbecue which I am a little ashamed to admit, I have yet to try, Steve being a native Texan tells me Black's is best but I believe that is a somewhat contentious opinion and depends on your personal preference.  It is also known for its beautiful courthouse which I think it can be easily agreed that is a majestic piece of architecture.
However when I think of Caldwell County, which being reasonably close to home we have been in and out of many times, cemeteries are always the first thing that come to mind.  Roughly a third of this counties markers are cemeteries and almost all of the markers added in the last few years are again cemeteries, the only markers in this county we are missing, you guessed it..... cemeteries. The Gunkel Family Cemetery is our one difficult one for this county but I finally have a line who the owner maybe so I'm still hopeful.

30th January, 2019 - One new marker has been added, Lane Cemetery, I'm unsure it's up yet.
